Careers Examination

One statistic that I found interesting was that 63,712,710 people hold a bachelor’s degree in English, but only 1,943,540 people are employed in the field. This was shocking to me because it is such a versatile degree that I thought more people would have jobs related to it. Another thing I found interesting was that higher percentages of workers in the top employing occupations have an advanced degree. This made me think that maybe I should think about going to grad school after undergrad. I also looked into the job statistics for editors, as I want to work in publishing as an editor. The employment is expected to grow by 1%, which is less than the average of 3%. This made me think that maybe I should find other careers that interest me that have more job openings.
