I found the top panel on page 26 very interesting. Having a smaller panel inside of a bigger panel isn’t something I’ve seen before. I like that it draws the reader’s attention to two different images that relate to each other. I also found it interesting that the smaller panel is still structured like a regular panel and has its own text. Another panel that caught my eye was the top one on page 32. The difference in reaction to the horse stall between the kids and parents was very impactful. The way that the parent’s faces are drawn conveys their worry and anxiety about the situation. On the other hand, George’s smile shows his excitement about getting to sleep where the horses do. 

The Japanese internment camps lasted from 1942 to 1945. Immigrants from Japan and U.S. citizens with Japanese ancestry were sent to the camps. Japanese religious leaders were often arrested instead of being placed in a camp.
